For a Christmas gift I received a 500 GB internal Seagate hard drive. It also has a speed of 7200-rpm. My previous hard drive was a 250 GB hard drive at 5400-rpm. So I have a recording of me upgrading the drive with the video sped up. The program I used to clone the hard drive was SuperDuper, incase anyone was wondering. The enclosure I used to put the internal hard drive in was a Rosewill SATA to USB enclosure. If you are wondering why it took so long to boot up, its because after putting in a new hard drive the computer takes a while to boot off of it. The computer now boots up in less than 25 seconds, and the overall speed of the system has increased 50%.

  • 3:50 why do u get that Finder icon instead of the Apple logo at bootup??

  • @ceccia97 I used a program called BootXChanger.

  • What happened to zmommom and totalmandude

  • @RefereeMario Zmommom is still a member, Totalmandude got fired about a year and a half ago. Long story, I don't want to discuss it really. I hope this answers your question.

  • what did you use to speed up the video [also in what program i use Final Cut Pro/Studio]

  • @2040Tech Final Cut Express, but I might get the new version of Final Cut Studio when it comes out, or just get the current one for a lower price when the new one comes out.

  • @rifall Yeah really

  • wow... took 1 min and 45 sec for your mbp to revive again! i've used cloned softwares before. mmm i dont like.

  • @nOrCaLnerd89 Yeah, I have heard some stories about those too. All I can say is, no Seagate HDD ever died on me.

  • @Hildron101010 Knew it (Sorry for asking)

  • @rifall Thanks :) the funny thing is that I have opened up an HP computer to modify it, lol

  • @1536mbComedy Well, it depends on the manufacturer. Once they see that it is not exactly in the condition it was bought in, most companies will void the warrantee. Heck, I think HP voids the warrantee if a cable is loose or disconnected. Lolz. Besides, most of the time, Apple doesn't check for warrantee when checking on your computer.

  • I laugh at people who say Macintosh computers have no upgradability.

  • final flash!!!!!!!!!!
