The DOW is a barometer of how much the government is bailing out elitists, bankers, and connected political cronies. This is why the DOW does not reflect economic fundamentals, but rather the effects of excess credit handed out to those closest to political power. The power of government, the treasury, and the Fed to grant these corrupt favors at the expense of the people must be curtailed.

The DOW is still barely worth 9 oz of gold, down almost 80% in real terms.

DOW 10000 is nothing to celebrate since it has only been possible by profligate printing of currency unbacked by any store of value; massive deficit spending; and the fed repurchasing massive amounts of treasury debt that no other investor, nation, or central bank wanted.
