  • I have a question you might be able to answer. I am beginning my own small solar panel system and I have a good understanding of the converter and all the wiring to set the system up, thanks to a lot of videos like yours and others. My question is what type of battery would you suggest for daily things, I basically wanted to start using it for just lights, but what about using a computer or running a tv, I'm confused on a 18 Ah battery and a 27 Ah. Could you offer any advice in this area?

  • @askCHARLIEdotNET just go for the biggest you can afford...go to Sam's club and get the golf cart batteries 59.00 a piece....mine have worked for years.

  • Harbor frieght has that system on sale for $149 right now. Want to get one myself.

  • @TheHeretic2011 thats a great deal...mine still works great ..going on 4 years..its funny i don't have any problems charging my battery bank..but you see all these guys with 500 watts of panels to.........charge one deep cycle from walmart to run their lap top!....my little system does my lights in my house!

um, how much can you operate on that one solar panel?

  • BRILLIANT

  • @1991araaron Bigger yes, efficient no.

  • @brendahodgins Thanks!

  • @london1817 Wow, I thought it might also be spam... NOT! That was just awesome.

You are right - it takes 10 years to pay back commercial solar panels

but these are do-it-yourself solar panels

and it will be shorter to recover - about 1-2 years

check the whole thing behind this at TopdiySolarPanels(dot)Com

  • Love it!

  • @london1817 I lived on solar panels for two years. You just have to do some basic math and understand their limitations.
