Up to one fifth of America's electricity-producing coal capacity may be shut down by new federal environmental regulations between now and 2017. The federal government is forcing plants to close, and as they do, jobs are being lost. In this video, Project 21's full-time fellow, Deneen Borelli, discusses the economic costs of these new EPA rules on the August 21, 2011 edition of the Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends.

Hmmmm, with all the projected lives saved, and bronchitis sufferers diminished, it makes me wonder how they came to those conclusions. Pretty much just like they projected all those jobs saved. It was all smoke and mirrors and I believe this is more of the same type of hoax. They can't really tell the truth about it because the plan is to destroy jobs and energy or tax it to death... same thing.

Over-regulation. While, yes, this is a pressing issue, it is something that would eventually be corrected by the market through innovation, technological advances, and by consumers who, when given the choice between the two, will opt for what's best for them financially and what's best for their families. By allowing the government to regulate this industry, it will be phased out too early which will result in job loss.
