@baconeater maybe not a deity, but I would assume you and ur wife astablished yourselves as "pack leaders", you as the alpha-male and ur wife as the alpha-female. And in K9 society what ever the alpha's say goes.

Actually it is a she, and yes, I am some sort of deity to her. That being said, she is a polytheist because she thinks my wife is some sort of deity too.

You have to be patient. It may take quite a few times. Point at the red ball for example, tell your dog to get the red ball. Do it over and over and over. Then change colors of balls, but keep the red ball in site. It takes time, but it will work.
