the rusians had thermoelectric oil lamp it means you get all the light from oil lamp +the electric energy.
i made a couple of thermo electric generators and i quaranty it is efficient as long as you are building the generator in a way where there is a lot of natural cooling
this means you have to use big alu cooling elements this also means you don,t need a fan to cool the unit.
for example with 4 unmodified cup candles i can light 7 12v led lamps witch have 30 leds so a total of 210 leds

@blackdragoniels1 beexwax?

@fairyheli2 You still get the light of the candle.

i sell these thermoelectric coolers, aka peltier coolers, for usa s&h i charge $10 with free s&h for 60 watt, 12 volt version that pulls approx 5-6 amps. if you send 12 volt to it, it will make one side hot and the other side cold. reverse the polarity and it does the opposite. if you put heat on it, it creates electricity, but its been told possibly 3-4% efficient, but if you are not using the heat for electricity already, you are at 0% efficiency anyway! i have 60,90,135watt versions

can i still use a candle to charge a battery of a cellphone??? where can i have a full diagram of circuits and parts use?? thank u in advance

nice. but i have to write down in my comment what i usualy just read. super music! :)

how can i build a scaled up version of a thermo electric generator? the most efficient possible design, cause i have 2 (so far) frennel lenses from old rear projection tv's ,i want to build a sun tracker for them and mount them on the roof or in the yard with a thermo electric genarators or sterling engine powered by the focused sun from the frennel lenses,how much power can i expect, the lenses are about 52" and 61"

looks nice but i think 2 flames in one cup candle is dangerous because the parafin will vaporize in that heat and cause fire

True, but not recovering waste heat is 0% efficient. In certain applications I'm sure TEG units would be economical.
It's real. It uses peltier effect.
Unfortunately, using this method to convert heat to electricity is very inefficient.

they should stop using LEDs as examples for heat engines, the candle make more light, get it to run a motor
