Jesus taught, "Love your enemy" and "Love your neighbour as yourself", so disobeying that is sin. St John taught that a Christian cannot continue in sin. If a group claiming to be Christian sins by mass murdering, they are not legit. Nor is any accusation that Christians are responsible for it.

Such people do not match the Biblical descriptions written by St Paul and St John of what a legitimate Christian looks like, however.
