Medical tourism -- the phenomenon in which hospitals in emerging markets offer "sun, sand and surgery" at low prices to patients from North America and Europe -- is gaining in popularity. While India lags behind countries like Thailand as a result of airport infrastructure and other bottlenecks, health care providers such as Apollo Hospitals are expanding at 10% a year. In an interview with India Knowledge@Wharton at the recent Wharton India Economic Forum in Philadelphia, Suneeta Reddy, Apollo's executive director of finance, discussed the company's opportunities and challenges in this fast-growing market.

@tallthinwavy3 Republicans have tried but Demoncats have filibustered the healthcare accounts that will be given to each citizen. Like a child credit. You are given something like $5000 per person . Demoncats want each citizen a slave under the thumb of government. Former citizens have warned us that the demoncats sound like their former communist dictators. End of argument.

@TheRay789 In England and the federally regulated country's have what you dream of but they shut down hospitals when the money runs out. People die on the way to a hospital that is not shut down, yet. Cancer death rates over there are much higher, too. My friends from Eastern Europe think people like you are crazy. They had 70 years of government control of everything. In Russia , if y are over 60 years old, you can not see a doctor. That is the future anytime government health care is tried.
