  • Arguably, withholding medication when it is in our power to use it to relieve severe pain constitutes an act of torture.

Might this speak to Health Care Reform in the US?

  • The reason why I mention Scientology is because the Church of Scientology capitalizes on the aspect of human rights while violating these rights. Beware of Scientology front groups "Youth for Human Rights" and "Citizens Commission on Human Rights" - both are front groups created to launder money into Scientology while maintaining its status as a non-profit organization.

  • @balckbettystack I was horrified at the basic & dirty amentites that they must live & die with.

Although I was not dying I did have to get some pain relief whilst in Fiji.ONLY the local, tiny hospital gave me Morphine from their tiny, little, supply. The private clinic didn't have enough to spare. They take the dose out they need & keep the remaining Morphine in the ampule.Where here we would have to through this away.

It was a total eye opener to an Aussie nurse.

  • I was injured in Fiji late last year.

The state of their medical system is on par to India's.

  • Thank you for bringing this issue to light. Palliative care is vital to human dignity. All should have access to these inexpensive medications.

  • We will all die eventually, so you'd think it would be of utmost importance to everyone, to see to it that inexpensive drugs such as morphine and methadone, be freely available to dying patients or ANY medical patient in severe pain regardless of the cost. "Not providing pain relief is a Violation of the right to Health , Govt's have a responsibility to make certain that inexpensive analgesics (Morphine-Methadone-Codeine)are freely available to those dying and those suffering severe pain.

  • Scientology ruins lives. It harasses critics. It breaks up families. It abuses the weak and the lost. It impoverishes the gullible, and then turns them to indentured servitude when they can no longer afford to pay their way to 'enlightenment'. It has no respect for human dignity, human rights, and human life.

Scientology plays on the victims vulnerability and pocketbook.
