PS2 Repair Video - Grinding Noise or No Disc Read

just my attempt at a repair video on how to fix some common problems with a ps2 fat.

Please note the ps2 will either have those clamps or a screw holding the laser rods in place.... Never unscrew those white screws that look like gears, those are important and shouldnt be moved at all.... I was afraid after watching this video people might misunderstand my directions.......

@dankss the part you said to bend is not metal in my ps2. should i just try to bend it aways?

bend it like in the video... bend it down twords the rail.

i would still follow this guide... therers a chance the laser is so dirty its not reading... also follow the other steps i outline....

I have the plastic bit attached to the laser, so i had trouble bending it. What i ended up doing was putting an already stapled staple in between the screw and the laser body causing the plastic bit to bend down towards the toothed bar.

Thanks man this fixed my ps2. I have an PS3 now, but after awhile from playing my ps2, I was starting to get disc errors from any disc I put in. Thanks so much.

I bought two Final Fantasy games (8 and 9). Final Fantasy 8 is a used game and 9 is brand new. 8 works perfectly, no grinding noises or anything, but every time I put 9 in it makes that noise big time. I've tried many times to get it to work, 90% of the time it won't read the disk but it has a couple of times, and it quit working and made that noise some more before I could actually start playing the game. I did the cleaning and everything, but it's still doing it. Any ideas of why that may be?
