Interesting fuze of metal and folk-fantasy... 薩滿, usually phoeneticized as "Shaman" is an ancient religious practice of the Chinese ancestors, including the majority Han people, but was deemed as sorcery during the Han Dynasty, and thus Taoism was born out of Shamanist roots to be politically compatible with anti-sorcery laws then. However, the people not under the auspices of the Han Empire still maintained their Shamanist ways. Qinshihuang did however, maintained official court sorcery: Xu Fu.
