  • the 2 cent coin is made of steel, it has a coaintg of a few microns of cooper, and the nitrogen dioxide is toxic so watch out!

  • the chemical equation is not equal, and therefore BS. Cu + 4 HNO3 --> Cu(NO3)2 + 2 NO2 + 2 H2O this is true for 30-75% HNO3 3Cu + 8 HNO3 --> 3 Cu(NO3)2 + 2 NO + 4 H2O this is true for >75% HNO3
