Early Childhood Education

The goal of the Early Childhood Education program is to teach students to work with and understand children from birth to schoolage. Students learn to plan and guide children's activities involving dramatic play, art, music, language arts, math and science. Emphasis is placed on nurturing children's physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth, as well as motor skills.

Child care settings are varied, with new programs developing constantly. Day care needs have far surpassed the number of graduates available and trends indicate a steady growth in this field. Jobs are many and varied including early childhood teachers and directors, family child care providers, nannies, and teacher assistants in 4K, early childhood education, special education, and kindergarten classrooms.
