um no. the reasons we havent been to another planet is becuase of lack of funding. we spend trillions of dollars to protect ourselves from each other. we havent reached the technological limit we just dont fund the right things to advance like we did when we went to the moon.

Well if the calculations are correct, just the fact that we haven't blown our planet to a giant desert, shows that we aren't as bad as the other civilizations that have gown down to shit and obliterated, maybe we aren't as "pure evil" as you think, maybe there's just stupid people in charge in modern day, and you look at them and not anything else for your representation of humanity, getting only the bad from it.

and the likely reason we funded it back then was precisely to demonstrate to others that we were better then them and could get to the moon faster. even then we were moronic, our energy just happened to be directed somewhere interesting.

And warp drives are theoretical and only on paper. A 2008 Scientific committee got together and in the end came to the conclusion that Humanity will probably never leave the Solar System, taking into account all the said proposals of alternative propulsion.

Dark matter is still theoretical...

I said another planet, not another star system. And scientists already have technology that would make it possible if they had funding. Solar sails and warp drives are 2 viable options. We just need the funding and support to mass produce dark matter.

And the sheer distance of light is another boundary. The nearest star is 39,735,067,984,839.37 kilometres away (or 39.74 trillion kilometres.)
It'd take thousands upon thousands of years with our current chemical technology.
