  • Geukjin Gongsoo (Kyokushin Karate in Korean) will be forever remembered in the world as Kyokushin Karate founded by a Japanese. Japanese will cherish this martial art into their hearts and souls, while Koreans are into those dizzy and useless 540 and 720 Taekwondo kicks. Unless Kyokushin Karate is widely accepted and loved by Koreans, There will be no Geukjin Gongsoo but only Kyokushin Karate.

  • There is more than 100,000 of Korean Japanese In Japan.

He discriminated in Japan by Japanese martial artist because of he is Korean.

Mas Oyamas(choi bae dal) had Korean blood.

    his skin is Korean.

But he became No.1 legend martial artist In JAPAN!

    kyokushin - mean is extream.

which's Korean's culture and there personality.

    Kyokushin Karate means Korean Karate.

hope you guys read MAS OYAMAS DIARY written by himself.

  • oyama sosai once said'when i visited to korea, korean says'he trained karate, japanese martial arts' koreans talked behind his back.when he is in japan some japanese says''oyama is korean and blablah ext.'but when i go to america and broad, they liked me as a karate master.

that is why i like to go abroad' i liked mas oyama as a great karate master not just because he was a korean born or he is asian.i trained kyokushin karate and oyama sosai is creator of that style.thats it!

  • @joopsnoop It's an error in translation. The interviewee, long time friend of Oyama doesn't say he was forced, but "he simply couldn't help it but change the citizenship". One of Oyama's son living in Korea also said that it was a very tough decision for Oyama and it was a great deal of baggage for him. Oyama chose to be Japanese citizen no doubt. Living in Japan and furthering career, it was a right decision. But none the less it was a hard personal choice.

  • I guess not his nationality, but his Karate which is important. And that's just GREAT!

    Osu

  • @hsphouse: Thank you so much for going through the effort of posting this documentary. I have had a photo of Sosai Oyama on the shomen of my dojo from day 1, but I had never seen him as human. This documentary helped humanize him for me and brought me closer to him. To hear about his struggles with physical pain, old age, and angst over his national identity was truly moving. I was also deeply moved by his humble demeanor with his students even after he was called a god. Thank you, and OSU

  • @philsnk stop trolling

  • @lovelyjsb You cannot have both. Japan and Korea both only single citizenship allowed. He was Korean born when Korea was art of Japanese Empire. He has Japanese passport.

  • @philsnk Chuo Dai, Not Tokyo Dai. He is Japanese born Korean. His passport name is Moon Jang Kyu. His family is very high up in Moonies church, Koreans. He was interviewed about the man he most admired in life and he said Kyo Ei Chu, one of biggest criminals in Japan who Matsui worked for. A Korean. Matsu I even tries hard to speak Korean and his proud of his Korean family.

  • @joopsnoop You are a foll! don't pretend be a great sage. Ooyama was a Korean to the very end and i saw the unhappyness felled for him showed in the video...
