I directed this show at the CBS affiliate in Rockford Illinois, WIFR TV, when "Ambassador" Bush came by on a campaign swing through Northern Illinois. All I remember was the room being full of Secret Service folks and it being very hard to concentrate. There's also the usual riveting Rockford news of the day, plus Sue Mroz's Weather Folklore!

  • And Rockford had a news helicopter!

  • lets not turn this into a politcial discussion?????? this is a video to shows us our history of tv interveiws, i find the commercials to be o so diffrent in the valu and deals then today, lol wat happend to make it hwere it is? lol. DON'T TURN THIS INTO A POLITCAL DISCUSSION

  • Interesting to note from the previous clip I viewed, I think early 1980 and this one in the fall of 80. The change in Sue's broadcast with the rotating weather display in both clips. I didnt notice any video in the early broadcast but in the latter one its obvious with video from the Rock River with ducks and graphix injected into the picture. Its more advanced today but not realy that much different.

  • This newscast is SO much better than anything available in Rockford currently. So much more professional. The network affiliates in Rockford now are terrible at producing a local news show. Not that this is great.

  • Yeah, he sucks, but at least he was moderatly "presidential". As opposed to his fuck-sucking son.

  • your grandmother does after she takes out her dentures.

  • Bush blows!!!!

  • so does your mother

  • Bush Sucks!! The Bush family sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey pbarret, thanks for posting. I grew up in Janesville, and to this day I remember that opening music to the WIFR newscast. That is the ULTIMATE TV news opening music.
