Can you believe people live up there and drive down every day. SCARY! I live in Palm Desert but dont go up 74 to often..

The first couple of times I drove up Hwy 74 from Palm Desert, I was a little scared and driving slow. But, as others have mentioned, driving slow creates a dangerous hazard in traffic.
Before attempting to go up any such route, a person should be well-experienced with the limits or near-limits of their vehicle and have a good understanding of the route in advance.
I'm looking forward to driving my new Coupe up that route.

Vista Point location there on HYW 74 is about 2000 feet above sea level possibly almost 3000 feet... the tallest peak in this range is San Jacinto at 10,834 ft. Very winding roads and not fun to drive with all the traffic. Lots of accidents. Injuries common. Better to stay home. Do the paramedics make you feel safe? LOL

its more dangerous with people driving that slow. causes frustration from other drivers.

what's so scary about it. I think you're scaring your kids because YOU are the one who is scared.

Yah, they just redid that whole vista point, looks real nice now. I did climb over the edge of that cliff once. Once.
Thanks for the comments!
