i tried to do this on mine, but can't get it to do it.

i'm gripping it hard enough to hurt my hand.

i think you have a manufacturing defect.

Wow...unfortunately its true. My new iPad doesn't drop signals randomly, probably one of the lucky ones, but I tried this deathgrip and it does happen. Luckily I never hold my iPad like that so I would never notice the problem. I'll take the $15 reimbursement when Apple gets sued again though...

Tell me if this "fix" helps:

Seems i cant post links even to youtube, so you have to do a search for "Fix WiFi Issues on iPad 3!" its on youtube.

My 64 GB Verizon has this problem. The easiest way to confirm for me is to go into a room separate from the room where my router is, then hold the iPad as shown here. The signal will quickly drop to 1 wifi bar and then switch to LTE. Needless to say it's going back.

This sucks, really, it's like the antennas are not shielded at all, another antenna gate? Damn, I'm not buying one til this issue is solved and I don't think it's a software issue, looks like a hardware flaw definitely!
