My first impressions of the Uberti El Patron version of thier 1873 cattleman revolver chambered in .357/38 special. At this point I have not shot the gun yet or done any modifications. I plan on joining the SASS and using this gun.

  • I have the Remington Uberti 1875 outlaw 7 1/2 inch barrell in .45 long colt, it is an awesome reproduction piece however dont be tempted to substitute ammunition the newer self defense loads are too high pressure for these guns use cowboy ammo to avoid cracking the frame although Uberti has to pass a factory shooting test a 4x the normal pressure they anly have to shoot the capacity of the gun ie..6 shots beautiful gun enjoy

  • @kmj1966blues Thanks for the info. I only shoot .38 special target ammo through this gun. I never even shot .357 magnum. Target ammo should be fine, right? Most of what I use is 125 grain and 158 grain lead ammo.

  • with respect to the lettering, it looks very much like it is 'silk screened'. will it hold up to holstering etc, probably not for long; but as the patina generally changes it'll make it more unique to you. shame they didn't go to the extra effort of engraving or laser etching; but a beautiful looking piece nonetheless

  • @catfish1935 Agreed, and I'm not worried about it. These guns are to be used, not stored in a safe:)

  • can you get an el patron in a .357 magnum with a 4 inch barrel , i know you can get them with a 4 3/4 inch barrel

  • @biggzyboys No. 3", 4 3/4" and 5 1/2" only. The Colt it is based off of came in, first 7" in 1873, then 5 1/2" in 1875 and finally 4 3/4" in 1880. There was never a 4" in colts catalog so I guess that's why no-one makes one.

  • @satorres82 Ok thanks

  • @FromTheIslandNapkins That's a good question. Looks like silver paint to me, no engraving into the metal. If you watch my other video I make a comment about the most recent one I purchased. That one has a slight indentation behind the letters.

  • are the numbers and the writing laser engraved? a lot of people think that laser engraving is paint

  • Hey Uberti, your breaking my balls with your inflated prices.
