WOW that was so spectacular! Such unique skills, GREAT dismount!

ok. this is like my favorite routine eeeeeeeever! so artistic, difficult, and such style wow!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they also took into account representing enough of the Republics...thus leaving off Kalinina (Ukraine) [Lyssenko and Gutsu were already Ukrainian] in favor of Grudneva (Russia).
-
Wow! Piked full-in dismount off beam! I always liked to watch this athlete. She had high difficulty, clean form. She was a very hard worker and had a surprisingly long elite career. Thanks, Milla, for giving us beautiful gymnastics.

maybe they just didn't feel like putting someone with such a long name that no one could pronounce on the team lol

Grudneva was arguably the best in the Soviet Union when it came to bars. She was also better on vault than Ludmilla as well. But more importantly, she also had stunning compulsories. That probably tipped the scales in her favour when it came to a spot on the Olympic team.

gutsu had too much difficulty and international wins NOT to have been on the 92 team (although she was overrated and overscored). i think ludmilla should have competed in place of chusovitina for sure

How cool that she's your coach! Yes, I know she went to the Olympics, but just as an alternate, she did not compete :(
seriously, someone needs to talk to tv producers HOW to film gymnastics, filming beam from the end and from below!!! who wants to see it from that angle, apart from the judges? and more recently, FX filmed from above on the tumbling run? OK, great fun to see alignment fora slow-mo after it is done but not during the routine...argh!

Chuso was an excellent vault and floor worker
if anyone should have been axed, I think it should have been Grudneva. She had good bars, but what else?
