I never could figure out the significance of the corn field. There must have been some strange symbolism behind it.

So far, this seems more in keeping with what I have heard about the original short story, from which the Twilight Zone episode was made.

Yeah, you know I'm not exactly sure where the screenplay we used originated. I watched the original after we had made this and yeah there are some differences for sure. There was also a radio play, but the screenplay we worked from was visually descriptive in its stage directions so I'm guessing it wasn't for radio.
