Kay Kay Menon is a happy man. The actor is set to make a path-breaking entry in the list of India’s most iconic villains. Kay Kay’s character in the upcoming film Drona is not only one of the most notorious, scandalous and wicked, but also the costliest villain Hindi cinema has ever had. In fact, at a dizzying Rs 22 crore, Kay Kay’s character Riz is more expensive than the lead, Drona himself. We got hold of the talented actor recently, who told us what it was like to be the meanest, most high-priced bad guy in B-town.
Did he think the producers got carried away and spent a little too much? “I don’t think their expenditure was unnecessary. It was an absolute requirement, right from costumes to the entire look, which was quite difficult to pull off,” he says. And despite the moolah spent on the almost invincible Riz, Drona proves to be tough competition. “Yes, it is difficult for Riz to beat Drona in the film. Both protagonists will fight to the last frame,” he explains. The buzz is the name Riz will now be taken in the same breath as Mogambo, Shakaal and Gabbar. How true is this?
