The three works on this album were composed over the last four years, a period which saw Armstrong searching for a personal style of composition to reflect his musical influences. In his approach to the acoustic world of classical music he has applied procedures used in recording electronic music. "I wanted to find a direct language, using tonality but firmly rooted in the 21st century," explains Armstrong, "an abstract, diffuse way of writing, much like an abstract painting with blurred images and subtle nuances of colour. Ive always had a fascination with sonority and orchestration.

  • Saw this at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, which was quite near to my work at the time.. kept going back every lunchtime.. such a beautiful piece.

  • Wow, the last minute and a half or so of this reminds me of "For Whom The Bell Tolls" (not the metallica song) that was played in the cinema scene in Donnie Darko.

  • Splendid!

  • This music is SUPERNATURAL. No words. No words.
