Demo of the Ensoniq TS12 Stock sounds, no samples... no other boards / modules / effects used. Song written in 1993, mostly on one weekend blitz... right after purchasing the board from Peate's Music in Utica, New York.

  • is there a voice piano, that can open the note, like estrous the note, when you press strong like roland xp piano? couse ts-10 don´t open the note when you press strong

  • There is a ROM sound in bank R2-2 PNO-N-CHOIR, the aftertouch opens the High Pass Filter on the choral voices. I used the TS12's channel aftertouch keyboard and my VFX SD polyphonic touch with no problems.

I have not heard the roland xp piano.

Unless you mean to play the piano Forte and get and extra bite on the sound. If so, the TS does not have multi-layered samples.

  • Im a big fan of Ensoniqs ...legacy anything up to the TS-10 after that I think there stuff sounds like most other Rolands. BTW the MR series sounds NOTHING like the TS series. Something changed either the waveforms or the converters + you cannot edit the MR unless you have a computer which makes it very uninteresting.

I own a VFX-SD(moded to an SD-1), ESQ-1(1st gen) + SQR. Im working on a ambient cd all done on Ensoniq with my own programming. I liked the music. Thanks for sharing!!

  • @alphawav2 You are right about the sounds of most boards after 1993, they started sounding so like one another. Up until then it was fairly easy to identify a board in any given song. Examples; D50, DX7 etc. Recently some innovation has crept back into the market. There is hope.

  • @willrobinsonensoniq What about FIZMO, though? That came a bit later and it's still innovative as all get out. The ZR-76 is a rompler, but it's feature laden enough to put a Kurzweil to shame. And even though the HALO is just an E-Mu PK-6 with different branding and a "Sounds of the ZR" QROM instead of a Composer QROM, I just like the sexy streamlined silver and red look of it, and it's entirely extruded aluminum, except the end caps, making it tough as nails and light to carry.

  • @gridsleep I remember when the Fizmo came out, it was .... I don't know. I couldn't find a place for it in my music so like the Wavestation it slipped by me. I have seen demos for the Fizmo. Rhythmrancher1 and rossignolmusic know better how to implement this unique keyboard. Fizmo has that movie soundtrack / acid house vibe though doesn't it?

  • what is multi-layered samples? you men like depend of the key touch, the sample are diferent? i like this kind of performance, this kind is velocity and aftertouch, but the ts-10 doesn´t have this? can we program it to do this? or maybe get some especific sample? thanks!

  • Andy, Each Ensoniq board has its own personality. The MR line arrived years after the TS and although had a larger sample set and updated user interface I could never figure out. Either I was spoiled by the TS / VFX interface or couldn't break away from the TS / VFX long enough to dig into the new stuff.

By the time the MR line had arrived my wallet had long been empty. I really lost interest in new gear and was satisfied with the gear I had. I'll keep an ear out your music.
