yup Satie reworked Clementi's Sonatine, all three movements... in a neoclassical manner, and also adding his quirky style. haha we studied his compositions in class:)

Nice! I also like to match a story I imagine when I play piano!

It is a nice, funny piece of music. I like the way you play it. I am translating the text for a friend and I was unable to find the meaning of the expression "en se gavillant". Where did you fnd it?

Oh, I can't remember, where I found the shovelling. Another translation says "stuffling". Perhaps our French friends can help,,,?

"To whoever. I forbid anyone to read the text aloud during the musical performance. Failure to obey to my instruction will provoke my just indignation against anyone so presumptuous. No exception to this rule will be granted." -- Erik Satie

How lucky people we are today - we now have subtitles which inform us in a silent way what's going on. The music is not disturbed and the order of the composer is followed :D

Do you happen to know why he put the text there?

Satie was a very funny guy, he always wrote silly nonsense comments in his music. I think it's just for his own amusement :D
