All night time-lapse video of sky over Texas Star Party in Fort Davis, Texas taken with 15mm fisheye lens. Stars, constellations, meteors and satellites can be seen passing overhead for most of the evening. • i live 20 miles outside St. Louis, MO and have my whole life. I have never seen anything like this in the sky before, and I can't believe people in the country see this every night like it's nothing.

  • Watching things like this makes me sad that our species' space programs are the most under-funded and misguided in any Government. Before I die, I hope to see a drastic change, an increase in the awareness of how important space travel is. Our resources will be gone, and not everything can run off water and solar energy.

The day we leave our solar system and find that confirmed advanced, non-natural signal from another species will be the greatest day in the history of our species and planet.

  • nice...

  • @Xoxinwulf I'm with you.

  • Damn, in my backyard i only see one star -_-

  • In California, the closest thing to that are clouds -_-

  • 0:36 or so = Venus?

  • @greenops I was thinking the same thing. It seems crazy to me that you can see that exact image with the naked eye. I am very aware that you can see the Milky Way galaxy in the right spots. But is it really THAT clear???

  • @Xoxinwulf Loving that light pollution eh?

  • Makes me want some milk, or a candy bar.

  • "The rising of the Milky Way" - Carl Sagan

  • The first time I witnessed the Milky Way I reached out to try to touch it. Than I asked my dad if we were the only ones, he turned to me and said No and told me that somewhere, another being was reaching its hand out also.
