Here is a Japanese Sega Master Mark III System ( with/ built-in Rapid Fire,3-D glasses adapter and beautiful FM sound) running in 60Hz & 50Hz....Playing the memory built-in Bios, and the Mark III version of "Alex Kidd in the Miracle World"....Also, playing the American SMS Cartridge game of "Shinobi" through another converter, taking the advantage of the FM sound...

I would get one if it wasn't for the RIDICULOUS PRICES I saw the Japanese Master System go for online. If I'd get a YM2413 FM chip, I'd buy the parts required to build all the circuitry around it and install that into one of my Master System Model 1s. You didn't get that Japanese Master System off eBay, did you?

You have to explain me how you did this! Is this the Japanese Version of the Master Sytem? Or is this the Regular EU/US Version of it? Is it possible to mod the EU/US Version to get FM Sound in it? What if I buy a Sega Genesis with a Master Sys Adapter to play the games on a Sega Genesis will I also get the Fm Sound from the Master System Games?

Yes, this is the Japanese SMS or second rev. of the Mark III system.....The American SMS or Euro one can be modded with FM sound....Someone at SMS forums was selling pre-made FM boards to install them...

Wow, I always thought the Mark III only came in the white version, I didn't know they got one that looked just like our Master Systems. They might have sold better had they included that damn FM chip!

Yeah, wishful thinking. I can't find ANYTHING that contains a Yamaha YM2413 in my area. I had heard on a forum that you can actually approximate the functions of an OPLL FM chip like the YM2413 with an OPL2 FM chip like the YM3812, which the YM2413 was based on. Can you confirm that for me?
