@arjanvanhoorn i'm tired of hearing that arabs and berbers " were black " there is no genetic evidence to support this claim

Compare 20th century Communist states - no formal succession because the ruler is legally only 'first citizen' and not a ruler until it becomes Christian, and then he's appointed (or dismissed) by God (operating through the Army of course!) It's the world's longest military dictatorship: 28BC - 1453CE with some 'extensions' and dissensions along the way, even the name Caesar borrowed into German and Russia (via Constanitople)

@arjanvanhoorn Wa HOOO... he took britain :/

@arjanvanhoorn it was a rumor that Caligula suffocated Tiberius and, i guess, only one historian mentions that.
Claudius was usurper, yes.
-
@urmo345 Caligula killed Tiberius with or via Macro, usurperation written all over it.
After Caligula died the senate wanted to return to the Republic. The pretorians (emperors bodyguards), realised that without an Emperor they were unemployed so they chose Claudius and forced it upon the senate.

@arjanvanhoorn And Tiberius too, of course...Things did get sour after Caligula when Pretorians did put up Claudius candidature on the tip of their gladiuses...:P
I love this video.
