This was another game in which I played the very risky Gallagher Variationas black in the King's Indian.
In my first video on this variation I scored a nice win, but in this game my opponent played a more critical line for black....

  • Nice game!

Exchange sacrifices that create a protected passed pawn if taken are quite common.

Agreed, but still to find them and I think my opponent played well here.

  • Well, now this game is a little more discouraging regarding Qe7! Perhaps you had to try Bf8 instead of Ne5, but it is tough in any case. I am liking the Paragua plan of Nc5-e6 by comparison -- at least you get no pawn weaknesses. I just do not like having that backward d-pawn unless I am definitely getting play on the queenside in return. Thanks so much for sharing these games!

  • Very nice game! Your Capablanca series is excellent and I am excited for the next game.
