  • Dear Lunagoddess: This patient was non-toxic and the infection was confined to the sinus. Drainage and anti-MRSA oral antibiotics or topical irrigations would be used. Typically Septra/Bactrim (sulfur), tetracycline orally would be used first. Mupirocin (bactroban) rinse would also be used. This patient resolved with oral antibiotics and the drainage. BTS MD

  • He had MRSA? Did you happen to use intravenous antibios for his treatment afterward or tea tree oil mixture?
