The most stylish and striking concept shown in Detroit was the Mazda Ryuga. A continuation on the theme Mazda introduced at the L.A. Motor Show, the Ryuga was shown with full exterior and interior, and a new variation of the flow theme on the sides of the gull-wing doors. Ryuga is actually Japanese for gracious flow, and it certainly was.

Laurens van den Acker, design division general manager for Mazda Motor Corporation, admits that the Ryuga is not currently a realistic proposal, but it is a concept that hopefully attracts interest in the Mazda brand, and is part of a series of concepts introduced too at the Geneva show and culminating in the highlight at the Tokyo Motor Show.
