It was reported at the time in the music press that Tony Palmer was guided by Clapton how to film the concert. So maybe Clapton didn't want the film to give away anything about his guitar technique. Whatever, the strange camera work and editing was almost universally disliked, but it was the last remnant of Cream by the time the film aired on the BBC in January 1969. Also reported in the music press that the concerts were broadcast live to europe. Hopefully without the shambolic editing.
