  • I don't know if they sound metallic exactly but they are definitely a lot brighter in sound than marimbas. And yes, that is a xylophone. Marimbas have an octave and a half more range and the resonators are humongous. Larger than a vibraphones.

  • uhmmm yeah marimba resonators pretty much touch the floor and go in a different pattern thats def. a xylophone...or xylomarimba
