SIRIUS XM Remembers George Taylor Morris

Radio icon George Taylor Morris, host of Deep Tracks and Artist Confidential, recently passed away at his home in Reston, VA. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations to the non-profit organization, Capital Hospice, located at 209 Gibson Street NW, Suite 202, Leesburg, VA 20176.

I used to listen to him on WZLX mid-days and would catch him on Reelin'-in-the-years. I always liked his upbeat personality. He sounded like a true professional speaker and I always felt like it was something special when I caught him on the radio. RIP GTM.

I remember hearing GTM for the first time in 1975 when he was on Boston radio station WCOZ. He left and I never knew where he went. Several years later I was driving through NYC and found GTM while station surfing. I knew I wouldn't keep the signal too long and I was tempted to pull over so I could hear his entire show. I was so happy to have him return to Boston on WBOS and then following him to XM. He was the best voice on radio, played great music and will be missed.

2 years now since he checked out. I still miss his voice on XM in the morning.

XM never recovered from his loss and then the merger. For a brief moment when he was at the helm, radio was everything it could and should be.

GTM was the best . Worked with him for years in Boston, and at XM in DC.

I have fond memories of GTM on his show on the radio, the one in your car or home! Over the air! He hosted "Reeln' in the Years" I have a few of the studio CDs from 1992. Too long to post here but maybe a segment in memory of George!

While XM and Deep Tracks soldier on, they have never really recovered from his loss. A certain cool will always be missing. Must be a great show going on in

He was my friend and one of the main reasons I loved XM so much. Sadly, Deep

Tracks and the XM experience, have not been the same since his departure.

I used to listen to him mornings on WZLX, called in a request once, got to talk to him on the phone. It sounds silly but I was totally psyched. He really does have the best radio voice I have ever heard. Even when he did on air commercials he was fabulous, I loved his spot for Brueger's Bagels...yes he was that good. RIP
