Oh, lakotasioux don't let lives and visions which are wretched, blighted and sterile stop you from sharing. Whatever Keel sang became one of the definitive versions if not the only definitive performance. Got to see him onstage in Show Boat once long ago. Was a terrific (and treasured) event. Please ignore the hopeless, they'll go to their graves as empty as they are now.
@kerryincolumbus Are you a fag? I better you secretly like to get it up the ass...you like them brown and hung...I know your type...you lie awake at night thinking about that hung black...pounding you..moaning....
He was born to sing. His voice is a natural gift, however, when he started with the studios, they insisted on voice coaches, as they did back then with all their singers. Singers run in my family, Howard Keel being just one of them. I seem to be the only one who doesn't sing.
@ThePuppylover407 No, he definitely had voice lessons, but I think he didn't start taking them until he was in his twenties, which is relatively late. Google it.
howard keel never had a singing lesson. and for the person who asked, when he was younger, his voice was a tiny bit higher, but still very warm and full. a nutral gift, at his peak, his voice was extremely powerful and he sang without seeming to make any effort, and even sang well "in character" when acting.
@HollyWoodStarsVEVO Then why come to this page, listen to it and post about it? If you can't respect two of the greatest song writers in musical theatre history...then just leave. Simple.
@MitziAA Thx. I totally agree with you.

@tsjrlover @tsjrlover I just saw your comment and saw the clip. The singer was Jerry Lanning. You are right, his version was superb.

Although I love Howard Keel, I'd never share this video because of the obscene comments below. Please eliminate them.
