This is a video of the upcoming Sopwith Triplane "Triplehound" for Rise of Flight. This video demonstrates its combat ability. This footage was filmed and released by 777 Studios. The footage shows some WIP code and flight models. Some elements in this video may never end up in the final game code, so watch with caution. The Sopwith Triplane will be available for ROF fans beginning October 2010.
Great stuff! One of my favourite aircraft of the war; now I really want to get my hands on this game!
Of course in reality the Sopwith Triplane and Fokker Dr.1 (& D.VII) never met in combat, as the former was withdrawn from active service by the end of 1917, just before the latter were introduced. So the Fokkers would more likely have faced a Sopwith Camel instead. Still an interesting "what might have been" scenario, though.

I like the fact that you have to actually crouch down in order to see your dials and gauges. Very good use of TrackIR.

Actually the Sopwith triplane was conceived and flown in action before the fokker triplane .The gemans copied the British design.
