@Monkeymanmoog Yeah I know, but when Quo cover songs like Fun Fun Fun they just add so much energy. Then again I don't like their cover of The Wanderer.
I do try not to listen to many Quo covers so i'm not too hypocritical :)
And I did say I liked this cover

@O2N2Concepts Don't get me wrong mate I grew up with Quo and still love em, but us Quo fans disliking covers is kind of ironic considering Quo's love of covering tracks by other artists that they enjoy.

nice cover but ye will never sound better than the mighty QUO !
-
@CheshireCatty I can totally see that too.Good spot. Both great tunes.

Did 'Scorpio Rising' not sample 'Pictures of Matchstick Men'? Cause that would explain why it reminds you of it!
-
Oh God this is pretty good. Love the bass, wicked shit :-)

This song reminds me of a mix of 2 songs "Scorpio Rising" by Death in Vegas & "I am the Real Thing" by Russell Morris.
-
Nice to see recognition from "modern" bands though
-
Very good cover... I am impressed and I am a Quo fan and Hate covers!
Obviously not as good as the original, kind of lacking the energy of the Quo origional, but not bad at all

@shaunatkinson6370 so true but its very nice it suprised me

I think kasabian are perfect for covering this classic track, mainly because of sergio's use of vibrato and wah throughout their career, put to really good use to capture that original psychodaelic soundscape of the song, and the articulation he added to the main riff with the fretting hand vibrato and the slides are a good innovation. a few picking and timing issues occured throughout but that doesn't really take away from a great cover for me. Plus Tom's vocals are really good for this song.

@supernova480
Not sure of your point. Quo do indeed still sell out stadiums but they mainly do concert hall tours anyway. I don't like Kasabian but I like Quo. If Kasabian are still rockin' after 40 years I'll have some respect for 'em.
