I use to listen to this song thinking it was all about the Captain's words over his crew, and that the crew could not do it any more. I have a GF and my best friend just got a new one, and his GF and my girlfriend have been fighting this whole week. I understand what this song means now. Its not about the Captain or the crew. Its about the ship. No one asked the ship what to do. No one one cares about others when every one thinks they are right.

It tells a story of betrayal and deceit among people who you thought were your men. But the part that really speeks to me is "There's no concrete found. No treasure in the ground. We won't die for this. We won't die for you."
