Henderson James, a Twenty-First Century space anthropologist, secretly studies a strange animal from another planet. Captain Karl Emmett, a retired interplanetary explorer, had smuggled the creature back to Earth in spite of the 1976 ban on importation. The creature, a Megasoid, possesses intelligence higher than man's but it is obsessed with only one emotion....hate.When the creature escapes its confinement, James has the Federal Duplication Bureau create an exact duplicate of his human body for the sole purpose of finding and killing the creature. The two Henderson James's, original and duplicate, soon find themselves endangered not by the Megasoid but by each other.

  • I was trying to remember why the bird head on the Megazoid looked familiar. Then I remembered: "Eee Urp!" The Avengers episode "The Winged Avenger", 1967.

YES. 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?', aka 'Bladerunner', was published in 1968. This episode of OL is from 1964, the story written by Hugo and Nebula awards winner Clifford Simak. The story was originally entitled "Mr. James". Search 'Clifford D. Simak' on Wikipedia.

  • 15:36 - Best lunch box EVER! ;-)

  • beautiful storyline

  • this story preceded 'bladerunner', very similar..

  • this is a story within a story, a strange dark story...

  • somehow this reminds me of bladerunner,or is it the other way around?

  • @RedOcktober So it is a Riviera... sweet. What about the car seen earlier, I'm thinking an Olds Jetstar 88? ....

  • The actor playing Henderson James resembles Gov. Rick Perry....ya think????

  • @yaacobUriyah I could not agree more!!!!!!! I never caught on to the new Outer Limits...... nor the new Twilight zone. The Outer Limits used great music, shadows and voices, not to mention the special effects of the day. Its fun to get online here and watch the episodes again...... my favorite (hard to pick) is Architects of Fear
