  • Instead of using puny arm power the ferry should have a seat and pedals like a bike to power it across. After all it does ferry cyclists and bikes. It makes sense to use legs and not arms. Legs would be more efficient.

  • That might matter if it was a long way across and if the efficiency was in any way a problem. It's not. This is basically a bit of fun. It's on a tourism route and is not anyone's commuting route. In the winter the water freezes and the ferry goes no-where.

  • We have something similar to these in the UK. I've seen them on the Worcestershire Avon.

  • That is very cool.

    We have big ferries here for transportation to the mainland and back and a smaller one for getting back and forth to Chappaquiddick Island. They both carry motorized vehicles and bicycles.

    The Netherlands are a shining example.
