On Thursday, July 8th, 2010, Muslim apologist Sami Zaatari and Christian apologist Thomas Hamilton engaged in a debate ( on Paltalk ) on the topic of whether Jesus is God or just a great prophet.

Representing the Muslim perspective was Sami Zaatari: Sami has written hundreds of articles defending Islam

He is a member of the Muslim Dawah Initiative its formed of members from the Muslim community with experience in public speaking, apologetics, polemics, research and community work.

He runs the website www.muslim-responses.com

Sami is currently studying literature in London and is working on a book on Jesus' crucifixion.

Representing the Christian side was Thomas Seraphim Hamilton, a well known Christian speaker and apologist on youtube, Thomas has produced several videos related to Christian theology, and has also debated on the well known Atheist radio program, the Atheist Experience.

hahaha this Kabane is very weak, intresting in the begining he asked not to use Quran then he begin to run to Quran :) , and I liked when in the begining he decided that he won the debate lol all what he did is very weak assumptions

It was an interesting debate. And this is coming from an atheist. Do the Gospel accounts support the trinity? After listening to this debate I would have to cede to Sami, if this belief was present at that time it certainly could have been declared more clearly. However the position that Jesus is a kind of divinity seems clear. Islam seems to demote Jesus to a prophet they give lip service to, but don't seem to use as a source of guidance.

The bible writers believed Jesus was God, as I have shown by my references. See also Jeremiah 23:5-6 and Isaiah:9:6 from the OT referring to the Christ as God.
