'Fusion' is an EU tournament hosted by Narolf of the Dissidia Forums.

Yeah, so, I entered another tournament just for kicks--and lo' and behold, a 'No AST' tournament at that! :D

I'm in the finals of this tournament... Wait, hold on a minute--are you serious; even with a character who I picked up just for this tournament? Damn, that's pretty sweet! Let's have a go at it!

... Also, seeing as there's a new tournament, I deemed it the right time to use some different features in Sony Vegas--and now there's a 720p HD option. Go ahead, you know you want to. ;)

Djqubi... Interesting. We fought each other in a few friendlies after our matches earlier in the tournament, so it came as a surprise that I had to play him competitively now. To be honest, I kinda expected Narolf of Kurayami to make a comeback to the finals, but it's always nice to get some fresh meat now and again.

I gotta ask; why, whenever I play Ultimecia, do people play Kuja? He's just not up-to-scratch, to be honest--or at least, not to the calm Ultimecia players. Now characters like Zidane, Tidus & Sephiroth on the other hand...

Unfortunately for me, I haven't used Firion in a while, so it was a little weird trying to get back in touch with him for that small segment. And it was quite unfortunate that I got a tad bit overzealous as it were once I had reached enough Bravery to claim victory. I guess you could say that my overzealousness was what cost me that match. Looking back on it now, I should have played turtle during that part and utilised Shield Bash a bit more. Oh well!

... And yes, I simply selected the Omega version of Sky Fortress Bahamut to spite Djqubi--seeing as he selected Phantom Train, which automatically makes Golbez a power-house on.Oh, and on a second note, this is also the first time I've played a Golbez on Duodecim on adhoc competatively. Happy days! ... And linking back to the whole Sky Fortress Bahamut Omega scenario, being blown back into Hell's Judgement was just so lol-worthy!

And I didn't expect to pick up the Warrior of Light for this tournament, but after remembering how awesome is in Pandaemonium from my Pool match against ChaosMuramasa, I had some ideas about how I'll play him.

Also, I'm gonna say that I've decided to utilise Knight's Arrow a lot more--thanks to input from RoboDestroyer.

As for the BGM, I was really out of ideas for good music--seeing as I don't like to use the same piece over and over again... So please forgive me, but I've really been into Assassin's Creed recently, and remembered that there were a few awesome music tracks featured in the trailers. So... yeah, it basically spawned from that.

All-in-all, it has been a pretty fun tournament. It makes me happy that a 'no AST' tournament was considered and ultimately pushed forward by a VOTE. Now if that isn't a cry to have something new and different purposed, I dunno what is.

... And if I were to sum-up this tournament's ending via my victory, it would have to be this quote.

Commiserations to Djqubi, and well-played to everybody else who partook in Fusion. I'll have a keen eye out for any other 'No AST' tournaments in the future. ;)

I disagree with Robo on Axe, for the sole reason that Axe is hilarious. is it possible to do texture mods on attacks? how I'd love for my Axes to have trollfaces.

Nice man. Match 1: Kuja vs Ulti, no way Kuja has a chance vs Ulti. Match 2: The entire match I was thinking to myself, GOLBEZ USE NIGHTGLOW. It's too godly on that map to not use. Match 3: Your own stage almost backfired on you lol. Ulti will destroy Firion on any other large map. Match 4: Nothing much here, good match. Also consider switching Axe for Sword on Ulti? Spam Arrow all day to zone and have 2 godly GTFO me moves. It's what I used and it's just insane for most characters to deal with

@RoboDestroyer - Sky Fortress Omega is one stage I don't have any experience on, but I knew that the Bravery pool would rise when somebody is on the ground--therefore all the more Bravery for me when I inflict break from my charged attacks! :D

Ehh, I dunno. Axe is a really good punisher for those who opt to stay on the ground, but yet, Sword was one of my initial moves before I replaced it for Arrow. Well, I guess I'll just make a moveset or two to differentiate between the two depending. ;)

I honestly don't think Force Symphony has a place in this matchup at all imo. It's hard enough enough to get above Ult without getting hit as it is (that Knight's Axe tracks well vertically). Harder still to properly position Kuja so that FS will hit.

@Kurayaml - And even WITH AST, she's still one of the most tricky characters to play against--seeing as she can build up that AST gauge with lance after lance and other short-cooldown & distance moves, and not to mention that the lance itself really screws up AST attacks by the opponent, too. :P

Thanks to this tournament, I might considder maining Ultimecia now--along with my Tidus. ;P

I wouldn't be suprised at winning with Ultimecia. Without assist, she's one of the most godly characters in the game.
