@jimeronimo I'm really bad at cutting things so I do what I can hot knife-wise and try not to burden my father-in-law too much (just the real toughys/thick ones).

@VividAdventures2010 hehe - thanks. I will not use cardboard tokens as my minis. It's just not right:)

You never cease to amaze me on the various different gaming systems you pick up miniatures to use in your D&D games bud!

why would you wanna take them off the base?

@MrToastOmnomnom Sadly, a Mage Knight base does not fit in a standard d20 square which is what all D&D maps consist of...plus, the clicks and numbers don't do much in an RPG environment. A new base means you can add all sorts of flock combinations and really enhance the piece.

Troll and Toad: DreamBlade 35 cents for a single random, or Mage Knight 25 cents for a single random, it's pretty cheap and I'm glad I found a video for the DB they looked opposing.

@EdwardXVI I think a big ol' box of randoms is a great way to start any one's re-basing minis project but try to cut the addiction after a few big hauls. It starts to make less economical sense after a while (where specific singles makes more sense).

Thanks for this video! I came across 7 boxes of Dreamblade minis for $3 a pop and I scooped them up to use for D&D. I'll use this tutorial as my inspiration for cutting through the bases and make some proper Medium and Large creatures.

@CrescentScar As they say in Robin Williams' Paradise movie, "we scored!". Well done - that's a steal of a price.
