If I were to try this would it be a snatch width grip doing a deadlift into a shrug?

First off nice form, it looks like you know what you are doing. I have been implementing explosive exercises like these in my routine now, but I dont do 215 pounds just yet. I was freaked out when I started watching this vid though because you look exactly like me, seriously. I was like wtf somebody filmed me in the gym.

Low hip position, is usually practiced by Chinese lifters. They believe you're able to use your entire back strength, hip and quad strength much better that way. It does force you to be much more flexible on the ankles though.
His technique is a little different, because he raises his hips. Our coach makes us use our legs to press off the ground, and extend the 3 main bodyparts, at about 60 degrees torso angle.

You start with awfully low hips... is there any particular reason for that? Do you have a regular coach? Good luck hitting the Q-totals! This vid is old... how is training going these days?

I weigh 82 kilos right now, so I'll compete as an 85. I've got time, though. I'm actually hoping to qualify for the American Open this year (need a 250 total) and maybe National Champs next year (270 total). Both will require a ton of work (many, many tons actually). I'm going to do my best.

Thanks. I'm going to try and post new vids sometime this week or next. Possibly have to wait until our in-house meet. I've cleaned 120K, snatched 80K, and ATG back squat with 150K. Trainings going well. Thanks for the comment.
