  • it's plastic...

    lol

  • I'm 62 and just starting to learn. I have drawn three . Yeah three faces and well needless to say I'm no artist. A good horror movie maybe LOL. But i watch every single video i can find . Book etc and im finding a very and i mean very tiny bits of improvement which as long as i see something changing im encouraged.

  • Thanks, I really appreciate that. Best of luck to you too.

  • This worked for me: Take a sketchbook everywhere and sketch freely. Let go of the eraser(if necessary throw it away for a while if you if you think you make "mistakes" 'cause with this exercise there aren't any ) and do quick sketches 30s to 3 min. If you are not happy flip the page and start again. This way you get confidence and don't worry about too much, cause your don't have time to worry or think. I found this very liberating. I'm not a native speaker so please ignore typos. Thanks!

  • Words of encouragement for those who think they start too late. If you have the motivation and enjoy your craft you can build skills fast no matter what age. I once thought I lacked artistic talent, but after letting my fears and self doubt go and I studied and experimented freely I began to surprise my self. I really think people hold back too much, because self doubt and fear. As long as you enjoy your craft and practise there is no stopping you!

  • I really understand how you feel, Serenity4art. I wish I'd started drawing when I was younger, too, and I really easily get discouraged. But remember; we're always better than we give ourselves credit for, especially in the eyes of another. We're not always at the level we want to be at, but that comes with time, practice and patience. I bet you're more talented than you think. Keep at it. The process is slow, but it's certainly rewarding.

  • I wish I started drawing at a younger age, now I'm an old dude with the drawing skills of a teenager. But your videos are very inspirational and it helps me get out of that depressing mood. So thanks for the videos, I really enjoy them.

  • Love it, how many years have you been practicing art for?

  • you have got your shading down pat im still working on mine its a little heavy but i still get the main shadow points
