  • Man that looks good.Jim has a great channel,as do you. Thanks for sharing. By bthe way was that the GSI minimalist ? Use mine all the time ,love it, peace

  • @Cragdwella Jim is a good buddy. I'll be taking a couple of his meals with me on a special overnight in late August. He's a talented, warm-hearted fellow and his channel reflects it. Yes - it is a GSI Minimalist - I do enjoy mine too. Looking forward to seeing you use your's again... Thanks!

  • Re-watching this video, I am curious to know what you are using for your cozy? Is it just your hat!? I tried making a few bag cozy for the Lipton food, so far, not good :(

  • @phr1sk37 Yes - I use my knitted cap as a cozy on day hikes. One extended or overnight hikes I bring along my freezer bag cozy that I bought from Sarah at Freezer Bag Cooking...

  • That looks very tasty - I've had a dehydrator on my want list ever since watching your Chili Mac video, every time Jim (or Tam Wendell) posts a new one it makes me want one even more!

  • @englishmaninontario You would be amazed how forgiving a dehydrator is on meals you can think up. You can almost dehydrate anything that's canned, add a few extra spices and eating like a gourmet on the trail.

  • @wawhiker Thanks, I will hopefully get out this coming weekend to do a couple of 4,000 footers in the White mountains of New Hampshire. I look foreward to getting some video and enjoying the trail ! Happy trails !

  • @wawhiker Perfect! I found the site on Google. Gonna have a read. For my pots I think I will stick to the reflex or cheap windshield guards but I want something nicer for the Ziplock containers and Lipton bags :)

  • @kookiemoose That would work. Or, some jarred real bacon bits (minus the jar), some freeze-dried chives and some of those Wendy's sour cream packets - maybe?

  • @HikersForum Time for a trail food review Matt. You are too kind for offering. I need to get my dehydrator out of the gear closet and start restocking my supply, and send a few out to others. I'll let YOU know when I do.

  • Well I was in China town over the weekend and this video was fresh in my mind and there on the shelves was dehydrated minifish and almond packets! I bought it and figured what the heck. The writing is in Japanese but the packets taste good. Excellent trail food with the jerky! Let me know if your interested in a few packets!
