VGA 2010 results and quick thoughts

I wanted uploaded this yesterday but due to certain problems with the video I had to postpone this.

Anyhow I couldn't resist giving out my own thoughts on this subject.

Studio of the year going to Bioware isn't just for Mass Effect 2 I'm assuming, but also Dragon Age Origins which came out only 2 months before, Dragon Age Origins Awakening, various DLCs for both games, as well as The Old Republic MMO for next year.

Whats wrong with nominating Final Fantasy XIII? Its not like there were many RPGs this year.

@downphoenix Actually there were alot of RPG's that came out this year even JRPG'S. Not to be mean, but I think you overlooked some RPG's that were only on portables systems and to be honest they were more deserving of being at least nominations than that tunnel walking RPG with a crappy cast of characters. But hey at least it's more functional than Final Fantasy 14.

@shadowsnake123 I dont play portable RPGs, portables are for games that dont take weeks or months to complete in my eyes. Plus there's the handheld category, if these RPGs were that good they could have been nominated there. As far as console RPGs, it was slim pickings this year, so Im okay with FF13 being nominated, the game ain't that bad btw, it was an improvement from FF12.

@downphoenix well that's fine if you don't play them but I think it's a bit foolish to say that portable games don't take long to complete because RPG's regardless on where it's on, are very long games plus even games that are not in this category can keep you busy for while due to replay value. Good example Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. I can make a list if I wanted to but I think you'll get the picture. As for FF13 that's fine if you like it but compared to other nominations, no chance.

@shadowsnake123 I dont mean that portable games dont take long to complete, I mean that I dont want to play an RPG longer than 20 hours on a portable, and even those that arent I struggle with completing sometimes, its just my personal preference to play RPGs with a gamepad or mouse and keyboard.

@downphoenix I see your point and I won't question why you don't play RPG's on portables but let's just say I needed to comfirm a certain qoute because the way you stated one of your statements did seem very off as if you were generalizing the length of portables which I think was kinda dumb. Also I'll admit this I think the my argument against the studio result seems a bit invalid now I think about it. I kinda was going for quanity over quality. In my view Bioware is better than Activison.

The awards themselves have improved slightly over the years, but I do detect bias in the best male performance award. Clearly Neil Patrick Harris won because he was the host of the show. Also, Rockstar and God of War have always been big winners at the VGA's, especially GTA.

No More Heroes 2 and Bayonetta should have been nominated for something.

The only part that really got me excited was the Elder Scrolls V announcement. FINALLY a new Elder Scrolls game!
