For Cow Pea up land having sandy loam soil is suitable.Land should be prepared with fine tilth.Seeds should be sown in line @ 5 to 6" height from ground level to avoid water logging.Distance from pit to pit is 2 feet and line to line 3 to 3.5 feet for better management of the crop.Basal dose of fertilizer like DAP and potash @ 25 -30 gm along with well rotted cow dung or compost should use per pit and mixed well with the soil.4 to 5 seeds should be planted in 2 inch depth per pit to maintain proper plant population.
