Episode 105: Starflight and Warpspeed for the Sega Genesis.
In this, The longest episode of AndyVGR to date, I review two games from the Sega Genesis Era, One Great, the other not so great.

  • I also miss having those nice game books that came with games. :)

  • Also - You should just review/talk about Hercules the TV show. I used to love that when I was a kid!! Would be great to hear your views on it.

  • LOL! spemen!! ^_^

  • I played warp speed all the time when I was little. If you have ever played it you know it consists of repetitive battles...and repetitive battles...and repetitive battles...and clearing asteroids...and more repetitive battles. Sometimes you get to use a different ship.

  • To expand on Starflight description: You mine minerals and then go back to your home starport and sell them. Different minerals will sell for different amounts. You can also capture creatures and artefacts that can also be sold. The money you get from this allows you to train your crew and buy better equipment for your ship. This allows you to survive fights with the tougher aliens.

  • yes reading the manual would always get me excited to play on the way to the house.

  • Congratulations on your weight loss Andy!

  • 6:24 "Lovecraftinoids" is my generalized term for that sort of thing.

Some of those creatures look like they might have been based on sea creatures. Something about that opening theme song reminds me of 'Heavy Metal' (1981). The scene where you're walking around in the corridor of the ship reminds me of Space Quest 2 except with better graphics - and it even has foreground scrolling!

  • @srgamers Hoosier gamers, represent!
