@seonidh This has Nothing to do with Ulster. It was an outlaw in scotland. His father killed at an early age. He was betrayed by one of his own clan. While in the dungeon preparing for his hanging he wrote a lament. Then Robert Burns wrote this version of his lament. This has nothing at all to do with Ulster. So SammyEnglish is spewing bullshit

Its nothing to do with ulster scots or scottish history for that fact.
Its a story about a fiddler who's has been imprisioned and about to be hung. He's playing his last tune on his fiddle before he has to die.

It's a Scots/Ulster connection- which apples to much of our history.
